Dizer que a obra de Mónica Capucho é composta de fragmentos,seria dizer que a obra foi inteira e não é mais. Não devemos confundir dimensãocom integridade. Na verdade, a artista descola conceitos da realidade e cola-osem algo novo, criando significados e proporção. A artista é o agente queatribui habilidades regenerativas aos fragmentos, capacitando-os para a criaçãode um corpo.
Em Regenerating, Mónica Capucho cria um corpo, composto porfragmentos de memória e presente, a partir da história do espaço da FábricaCatalã. O espaço físico é explorado como o lugar conciliador de comunidade enatureza, que no Montado são esferas que se beneficiam mutuamente.
Há três planos em Regenerating – criação artística, memória ecomunidade – que existem unidos intimamente no espaço-tempo da exposição. Aartista cria no seio da continuidade da natureza, anulando a distância entrepassado e futuro, e fazendo um corpo presente, aberto em crescente ampliação,onde múltiplas durações coexistem.

To say that Mónica Capucho’s work is composed offragments would be to say that the work was whole and is no more. We must notconfuse dimension with integrity. In fact, the artist unglues concepts fromreality and glues them onto something new, creating meanings and proportion. Theartist is the agent that confers regenerative skills upon the fragments,qualifying them for the creation of a body.
In Regenerating, Mónica Capucho creates a body,composed of fragments of memory and present, from the history of the space ofFábrica Catalã. The physical area is explored as the harmonizing place ofcommunity and nature, which in Montado become mutually-benefittingspheres.
There are three planes in Regenerating – artisticcreation, memory and community – which exist closely linked in the space-timeof the exhibition. The artist creates within the continuity of nature,cancelling out the distance between past and future, and making a present body,open in increasing expansion, where multiple durations coexist.
